Good Design

I'm starting to appreciate good graphic design, and designing for an audience. I want to produce good work that is designed for the content rather than designed for me:
At the moment I'm getting too scared to stray away from my comfortable style when I should be creating broad work that doesn't need to have aesthetic fluency (between projects)
All of this work is by the same companies but looks completely different and fits the purpose.
